Australian-owned and operated since 1926, Welling & Crossley (W&C) is today an internationally recognised manufacturer of Diesel Generators, Fire Products, Diesel Engines and Tractor Driven Alternators.

With branches in Victoria (Head Office), New South Wales, Queensland and Western Australia, W&C continues to grow in the development of strategic alliances with leading producers of alternators, electric motors, engines, pumps, portable petrol and diesel powered generators, welders, workstations, multi-power packs and other associated products and accessories.

Welling and Crossley History

1926 W&C began as a manufacturer and supplier of cranes, hoists, winches to the Australian Armed Forces.

1967 W&C penetrated the power generation industry supplying small to medium gensets, automatic mains failure control systems and parallel power station installations, as well as importing alternators from Europe.

1978 W&C becomes the Victorian Distributor for Isuzu Industrial and Marine diesel engines.

1991 W&C opened a new branch in Sydney to enhance its existing service network and to meet the increasing sales demands in New South Wales.

1994 W&C continued its growth by commissing a number of natural gas fueled generating sets.

1998 W&C relocated from its offices in South Melbourne to a larger facility in New Street, Spotswood in Victoria, to better manage its booming manufacturing and administrative operations.  The move enabled further expansion of production and sales of the Company's existing product line, and supported the growth of its new Gentech portable generator range.

1999 W&C opens a new branch in Perth to enhance its existing service network and to meet the increasing sales demands in Western Australia.

2000 W&C becomes the Australian distributor for the Daewoo range of heavy duty industrial and marine diesel engines. Also in 2000, W&C launched its new Crossley Engines range, which included diesel engines, fire products and electric motors.

2002 W&C acquired and revitalised the iconic Dunlite Power Equipment brand. Also opened a new branch in Brisbane to enhance its existing service network and to meet the increasing sales demands in Queensland.

2003 W&C becomes the Australian-Pacific distributor for Yamaha generators.

2004 W&C opened an international branch to expand the Company's sales and operations overseas.

2007 W&C relocated its Victorian head office to the larger modern facilities of Export Drive, Brooklyn, after once again outgrowing its existing branch location.

2008 W&C became the exclusive national distributor of the Yamaha Multi-Purpose Engines range. W&C extended its range once again by offering a more diverse range of Yamaha and Honda powered pumping products.

2009 W&C introduces a diverse and highly reliable range of Yamaha powered generators as an option to its existing range of Honda powered units available.W&C becomes the Australian importer and supplier of Lister Petter Generators, Engines and Spare Parts. W&C becomes the Australian manufacturer and supplier of FPT / Iveco Diesel Engines and Doosan / Daewoo Engines.

2013 The W&C Townsville Branch opens at Unit 19 Industry Park, 547-593 Woolcock Street, Mount Louisa, Townsville 4814.

2014 W&C becomes the Australian importer and supplier of Kirloskair Engines and Generators. W&C launched its range of portable water pumps under the Water Master brand.

2016 W&C celebrates its 90 year anniversary. Dunlite celebrates 80 years in operation.
